The basic range for input power on the main power connector. It is
not on the schematic. I was just wondering if there are any options
to the standard 9V (expensive) battery.

Any 7.2 to 9V supply will work. I don't like to go above 9V because
that will start to get the regulators a bit hot if any significant
current is pulled. In a pinch I've run it on 6V worth of alkaline
batteries.
