A discussion group for the PICMicro microcontroller. Also called the Microchip PIC, this list is dedicated to the use and abuse of this fine, simple, microcontroller. Close to topic posts are welcome, ie. general electronics.
Hi there all, I am new to this list. I have a project idea in mind and would like to share
this with you guys. Firstly, I have very basic understanding of PIC Assembly but do by now
know how to blink an LED.
My project is as follows:
I want to use a PIC16F88, as this is not too complicated and has all that I may require. I
want to build an extra fuel injector controller, in which rpm (IG-) signal will be fed to
16F88 for fuel reference at chosen rpms, acceleration/deceleration detection via WOT
switch or TPS and PWM for injector driving with gain control (be able to vary pulse width)
by connecting a potentiometer to the ADC of the 16F88.
Code size should be enough.
I would like to know though as to what frequency would be ideal for this type of project
to the internal oscillator to. The 16F88 has these frequencies selectable: 31KHz, 125KHz,
250KHz, 500KHz, 1/2/4/8 MHz.
I would appreciate any suggestions/comments.
Thanks and regards.
