12f675 newbie - ocusce - Aug 14 7:55:00 2003

Hello, i just have bought my first 12f675 pic and nothing seems to
work to me.
I work with the 16f84a dailly but this little one is driving me mad.
So i have a couple of questions.
The internal osc is defaulted at 4 mhz?
In the datasheet says that setting mclr on (during program time) will
stop the internal osc, is this the only thing that stops intosc from
running?
its needed to call 3fffh and put this to osccal to make the internal
oscilator run at 4mhz. (the value in 3fffh is the factory default)
My first program just try to turn on a series of leds in the gpio port
but it just dont seems to work.
In the first time i dont have turned off the comparator nor the ad
converters and turned on the chip with the leds connected directly,
can this fry the chip?
Im using ICProg to burn the chip, some ideas?
Has someone a little code example so i can view if the chip is
working? (something with just leds and internal osc must be perfect).
Its a lot of questions but im loosed. After work perfectly with 16f84
i feel little stupid, but thats life!!

Thanks to all you.

hi,

my name is shaun and i'm a newbie altogether, however i've started with the 12f675 and i have some programs that are working and structured correctly, email me direct and i'll email them back as attachments, i used the mplab ide, so i don't know if they will compile with your ide. theres nothing fancy just flashing leds, rotating leds, and a crude pwm output using analogue input to alter output

regards

shaun
