Caller ID decode on just a PIC16F84 - Ken Boak - Dec 9 19:55:00 2001

Listers,

I can now report that I can successfully decode V23 Caller ID signals using
just a PIC16F84 running at 3.58MHz, an NPN transistor, 4 diodes, and 10
passive components (resistors and capacitors).

I call up the decoder (attached to my second telephone line) and my calling
party number is decoded and displayed on a Psion Organiser (acting as a 1200
baud terminal).

This open up the way for a whole lot of exciting applications.

Code and circuit will be posted in the Rat_Ring files area in a few hours
time.

regards

Ken
