A discussion group for the PICMicro microcontroller. Also called the Microchip PIC, this list is dedicated to the use and abuse of this fine, simple, microcontroller. Close to topic posts are welcome, ie. general electronics.

I'm new to PICs and I'm trying to find the appropriate programmer to build. I've seen dozens of different design and I've decide to start with a simple programmer that will program on pic16x84's... Again, there are many designs to choose from but i have found one really simple design! It uses 1 resistor, and that's it. Of Course, I am a little skeptical about the programmer but i was going to ask anyone if they've heard of it or if it really works. http://www.jdm.homepage.dk/easypic.htm |

If you have all the time you need it is worth while trying it. I've designed a PCB for it that may easily be made at home: see my web page. Sorry, I used the more complex JDM programmer, not the ultra-simple one.
