joe...the combination of max114 and pic16f84 makes sure that a digital ooutput of 8 bits can be retrieved by the 877 anytime. what i want to do is that, the digital output word must be available anytime. it doesnt matter if both 877 and 84 are not synchronized as long a digital output is present to be retrieved by the 877 microcontroller? do you think it is possible? and i think it is not cost effective. do you have any other suggestion? thanks a lot for your help, emm --------------------------------------------------------- Emmanuel A.
