Someone a while back was looking for these. I put out some feelers and nothing has turned up. 3 and 4 pin, but not 2. Chad |

Chad, That may have been me; thanks for assisting in my search. Bob --- In , "Chad Russel" <chadrussel@y...> wrote: > Someone a while back was looking for these. I put out some feelers > and nothing has turned up. 3 and 4 pin, but not 2. > > Chad |

out of curiosity, why does it have to be 2 pin (er, pad)? Since we are talking smt, there is almost zero penalty for 3 pin (ala sot23 or even 2 1206 diodes side-by-side. might be cheaper (though fractional pennies...). sot23s are actually smaller than 1206s though take about the same pad space. phil --- In , "Bob Blackwell" <afticarr@s...> wrote: > Chad, > > That may have been me; thanks for assisting in my search. > > Bob > --- In , "Chad Russel" <chadrussel@y...> wrote: > > Someone a while back was looking for these. Specification on the 3-pin units I looked at indicated utilization of either a common anode or cathode pin, neither of which were suitable for the intended application; Model Railroad Signals. Dual- led, 4 pin LEDs suffered from incorrect diode orientation; matching polarities. Side-by-side diodes would have been okay if the application required only Red or Green signals but there is a need to provide a yellow signal which is generated through rapid alternation of the red/green states. I finally found a reasonably priced and suitable unit; Fairchilds 512-QTLP670C24. Although this is a four lead unit, diode orientation is such that I simply parallel the appropriate pads and viola, I've created my own two pin LED.
