hi all,
Well i am mailing this for second time, hoping to get response this time.....
![]() In the microchip website ..in pic 18 selection tree:
microcontrollers--->product family> pic18 OR see the following URL: http://microchip.com/ParamChartSearch/chart.aspx?branchID=1004&mid=10&lang=en&pageId=74 Many pic 18 micros are given..under the heading of "Memory types" some pic18 are given 0 and some are given flash..WAT DOES 0 "Memory type" means ....i am very confused with it... FOR EXAMPLE PIC18F248 IS 0 MEMORY TYPE , 18F258 IS ALSO 0 MEMORY TYPE.... plzz help AMIT Life consists not
in holding good cards but in playing those you hold well.

Looks to me like the table is messed up. 18F devices are flash, some 18C devices are One Time Programmable, others can be UV erased, I believe. When you settle on a device, read the datasheet to verify the features. --- In , AMIT KAPOOR <kaps_iit@y...> wrote: > hi all, > Well i am mailing this for second time, hoping to get response this time..... > > In the microchip website ..in pic 18 selection tree: > microcontrollers--->product family> pic18 > OR see the following URL: > http://microchip.com/ParamChartSearch/chart.aspx? branchID=1004&mid=10&lang=en&pageId=74 > > Many pic 18 micros are given..under the heading of "Memory types" some pic18 are given 0 and some are given flash..WAT DOES 0 "Memory type" means ....i am very confused with it... Memory type refers to whether a device is ROM, OTP, FLASH, etc. My guess is there are some of the FLASH and EPROM types that were left blank (and thus "0") in the database that is used to generate the table. If you are looking at part numbers with an "F" in them then you can be sure they are "FLASH" parts. Well according to the Microchip Product Family data sheet 18 Series is available with Flash Program memory, OTP Program memory, or NO program memory.
