PIC - USB Port Wireless Serial Communication - s_tanberk - Apr 28 7:59:00 2005

I want to make serial communication pic and notebook wirelessly.
Notebook has no serial port. So I should use USB port directly.

I will use bluetooth USB dongle for notebook USB port. And I will use
a bluetooth minimodule for PIC side.

Is there anyone who tried something like this before? I wonder if it is
possible to make serial communication using USB port directly.

Thanks.

I believe some PIC's have an USB interface onboard...

Re: PIC - USB Port Wireless Serial Communication - mada...@... - Apr 28 10:58:00 2005

There are many Bluetooth modules for wireless serial communication.
Bluetooth module has UART interface for communication with PIC.
Learn RFCOMM/Serial Port Protocol over HCI to establish communication with USB
BT dongle.
Some Bluetooth modules support AT command which easier to use.
Google "RS232 Bluetooth module" !!

Good luck. Mada.

RE: PIC - USB Port Wireless Serial Communication - Scott Lingerfelt - Apr 28 18:26:00 2005

I have been looking at trying some of the modules at
http://www.blueradios.com/hardware.htm#BRC11. They have SMT and stamp style
modules for interfacing with embedded devices. RS232/RS485 to Blue tooth
wireless!
