Discussion Groups | Rabbit-Semi | rcm3720 power source

This is a group for folks designing and programming embedded systems using the Rabbit Semiconductor C-programmable microcontroller. Rabbit Semi is a spin-off from Z-World who makes a variety of embedded modules and tools. This group is not affiliated with either Rabbit or Z-World, but is a user forum for sharing ideas, asking questions, flaunting knowledge, and other typical user group stuff. The Rabbit is a powerful uC, supported by a full-featured C-compiler.

rcm3720 power source - ePonkFiria - Jun 18 8:01:00 2008

Hi,

What is the voltage the RCM3720 prototype board need?
in CD documentation it says 4,5 Vdc - 5 vdc, but in brocures came in package it says 200mA at 7,5 VDC - 15 VDC
Currently I used 12 VDC and it looks like the microprocessor is melting from the edge :P
Now I test with 4,5 VDC the ethernet led won't light, I test with 6VDC it's works.
Thanks

eponk

All my dev boards run on 7.5-12V. I use a 9V supply.

The docs that say 4.5-5v, are you sure that is not for the module
instead of the dev board?

Thank you for your reply,
I check again, the 4,5-5v yes only for the core module not dev board,
Do you have any idea why my microprocesor melting?
I'm running it for 24hours doing PING every 30 ms
