Discussion Groups | Rabbit-Semi | Using your own Ethernet connector?

This is a group for folks designing and programming embedded systems using the Rabbit Semiconductor C-programmable microcontroller. Rabbit Semi is a spin-off from Z-World who makes a variety of embedded modules and tools. This group is not affiliated with either Rabbit or Z-World, but is a user forum for sharing ideas, asking questions, flaunting knowledge, and other typical user group stuff. The Rabbit is a powerful uC, supported by a full-featured C-compiler.

Using your own Ethernet connector? - Finbarr - Oct 15 10:01:38 2008

This is specifically about the RCM5700, but would probably apply to
other models with the 4000 or 5000 processor as well.

The RCM5700 has Ethernet capability, but no RJ45 connector fitted -
although the holes are clearly there on the PCB to fit one. I'm
guessing they may eventually introduce a variant with the RJ45
installed but in the meantime has anyone tried fitting their own to the
board? Failing that, has anyone connected their own RJ45 on a
motherboard? I'm really looking for a suitable circuit diagram and
suggestions for part numbers for the connector so I can try this myself.

I presume the development board has this circuit fitted but they
haven't published the schematic for it yet. Any advice would be welcome.
