If you want to use GCC then I would recommend CrossWorks with a
CrossConnect. It is fast and has never missed a beat for me. I also have a
demo project for using this setup here http://www.freertos.org/portlpc2138.html

You could probably use the CrossFire board as an example for the hardware

Dear All,
I am thinking of using LPC2138 for a new project and tried to get it
going using GNUARM tool chain with a simple prototype design.
I am facing problems in JTAG debugging using Amontec-tiny.
can you please recommend which tool should i go for. any if any one
has simple application return with schematic for LPC2138 which can be
shared that will be great.
