Arey you using J-Link? If yes, in version 5 you must remove
selection on "download" under link settings. Iar use the j-link
utility and not the inside loader.

IAR5.x fails to program sam7s
Hi,
I am evaluation IAR 5.2 and IAR 5.3 products. Both seems to fails to
program the on chip FLASH of sam7s256 and sam7s64 chips. Version 5.2
hangs after a progress bar window pops up saying "Programming flash".
Version 5.3 reports an error in the debug log (similar to "Flash
programming failed.").
The same boards work fine with IAR 4.41.
Does anybody has a solution to this problem?

Hi,
just to spare some trouble for others I post the solution to my
problem.
IAR changed the Atmel flash loader with version 5.x. Even 5.2 and 5.3
has a different version. The default flash loader parameters are not
correct. Check the example applications coming with IAR to see what
extra parameters are needed.
After parameters are correctly set, downloading works just fine.
