The new embeddedSPARK Summer Challenge is now on, and you can submit your project idea NOW!  The SUMMER Challenge is a new version of the original embeddedSPARK challenge and is based on Windows Embedded Standard (as opposed to CE).  Three Finalists will be invited to present live on stage at ESC Boston in September.

If you decide to participate and would like to blog your progress on EmbeddedRelated.com, please let me know!  This could make for an intersting blog.

The winners of the 2010 'winter' edition of the challenge have just been announced at ESC Silicon Valley:

Rowing is a popular sport where one to nine participants row in sync to propel a 25 to 60 foot boat known as a shell. The bowman, who sits in the front of the shell, could be considered the captain. The bowman must steer the shell with voice calls to the crew. Additional bowman tasks include navigating the course, avoiding obstacles and other shells in the race, and maintaining the stability of the shell.
This embedded system will be worn by the bowman and will integrate and display crew and shell performance data.
