MPLAB 6.6 and CCS C, good?

Dennis Clark - 15:29 01-07-04
I'm adding some new 18F stuff to my list of things I'm doing and want to get MPLAB 6.6 installed. I currently use CCS C 3.18 which says that it is good to go on MPLAB 6.2 and up. It is unclear to me whether my MPLAB 6.6 update will overwrite or coexist with my MPLAB 5.75 installation and wh...MPLAB 6.6 and CCS C, good?

I'd like to program my PIC16F84 with microchip MPLAB ICD 2 (I use this software : microchip MPLAB IDE version 6.30.0.0). It seems that the MPLAB ICD 2 doesn't support this PIC, and I can't program it. What's wrong? Rob Horton - 07:48 16-08-06
When I view the special function registers using mplab, every register appears to be set to zero. I just can't believe this since when I program two different applications, the PIC (16F87) behaves as if the SFR's have different values, yet when I use mplab to view the SFR's everything is sti...mplab & special function registers

Re: writing bits to PORTA on p16f84

Gary Kato - 09:59 05-02-04
I don't use gpsim, but the standard MPLAB SIM. MPLAB SIM seems to assume that input pins are tied low unless told otherwise by the Pin Stimulator. I tried setting RA0 as an output and setting the latch, then setting RA0 as an input and RA0 turned off at that point. I don't know if gpsim has so...Re: writing bits to PORTA on p16f84

Hi Mats, you understand the manual right, I think. I'm not so with the PIC18, but much more with PIC16 and some other µc. I made an example with the instruction in MPLAB.
