New Rabbit 3000 Open Source Kit - Zan - 13:29 11-03-05

Hi All,

Cool new PC controller kit based on the Rabbit 3000. Both the
firmware and Windows server software is open source.

Here you go: www.zanware.com

And where is the project site? I foudn the hardware stuff. And you
have links to Sourceforge but no project. I found the Windows software
but not the Linux software.

Hi Neil,

I need another week to finalize the source code, and get it on
Sourceforge -- there is some code in there that we don't own, so need
to remove that and get things working again.

Thanks for the interest,

Oh yeah,

One more thing....for now, you can download and install the server
software on a Windows machine. Once installed, you can run the
emulator, and check the Windows server out -- this is all free.

Most of the logic is written in JScript, and is already open source --
that is, there are about 20K lines of script installed in the "script"
directory that you can check out.

We haven't started on the Linux code yet -- I'm looking for some help
on that one.

Thanks! :-) When everything is together I'll add a link to my pages
for others to find (don't worry I won't take credit for your work
:-).

Sounds great!

I checked out your web site -- home automation is a big part of this
project. I like what you are doing.

Keeping this product going is my goal. Originally, it was a prototype
for an in-wall controller. We tried to get some VC money, but the MBAs
kicked our you know whats.

Now, I have a bunch of parts and tons of source code. So I decided to
make it open source, and sell the parts as a kit.
