Hello all, I've used the Microchip 25C320(32K bits) serial EEPROM for many years with the HCS12 and recently changed over to the Atmel AT25256A (256K bits). It works for the most part but it doesn't consistantly write the correct data. I've looked at everything from code to waveforms and

Hello, I am looking at a Bluetooth OEM module called the KC-21. This module has a 24 pin IC which allows interfacing options to an SPI and a UART (SCI in hcs12 terms). I was wondering on options regarding having an application where one bluetooth module is connected through the serial port to a workstation while the other module is interfaced to a microcontroller. No need for a fancy ap...

Hello, I am relatively new to the 68HC12 (about 5 months) and I'm using it in a project that I've been working on. I know that the 68HC12 has an external addressing scheme that will allow one to reach 1MBytes worth of data. My question is this: What types of external memories are available? I have found an I2C 1Mbit EEPROM and some SPI flash memories, but nothing near 1MBytes that I...

Hi, I have a function that returns that value of the SPI data register (SPI1DR). I expect this function to return 0xFF if there is no other data coming in from the slave device. However, I only ever see 0x00 in this register even though I see the correct bit pattern on the MOSI pin. Does anyone have any thoughts? The receive function and my initialization are below. Also, I am using an MC9S12DG...

I have a device (barcode scanner) that can ouput either PS/2 or RS-232 that I need to connect to a 68hc9s12a256b microcontroller. This particular MC has to serial ports and an SPI. What do you think would be the best way to get the data from it? Here's my plan: I will set the scanner to output RS-232. Since this voltage level isn't the same as serial I will use a MAX232 to bring the volta

I coded a simple HC16 to HC16 serial interface, in which HC16 acts as a master. in most cases HC16 shifts out 4 bytes to HC12 before a fixed delay. HC12 sends back two status bytes. After first command byte received by HC12 via interrupt, It clears SPIF flag, loads off the data to a local buffer. Does that
