Hello, While using the USB option of the AT91SAM, I am facing a strange situation, at least I think it as strange. Before, I tested the USB with my very crude prototype board, and it worked, I mean I could see some activity when I conneted the USB to computer, and the debug port sent acknowldegements on connecting and disconnecting USB, which told me something about USB, at least that it i...

Hi all, I'm an Atmel and USB newcommer. The target board is an AT91SAM7S256 and is running Atmel's USB driver(Control and Bulk EndPoints). To achieve better data throughput on the peripeheral controllers(CAN, USART) the USB Write and Read functions were changed to be non-blocking. I'm attempting to handle the situation where the App making the Host USB side IN request has abruptly terminated

Hello, I just got an Olimex SAM7 board and their ARM-USB-TINY JTAG interface yesterday and am trying to set up the OpenOCD driver and Yagarto. I'm stuck trying to install the USB driver for the ARM-USB-TINY. I've tried the one from the CD from Olimex with the ARM-USB-TINY and a later version. Windows sees the new USB device and brings up the "hardware update wizard", I point it to sear...

Hi all, I am using the USB CDC class to communicate with my SAM7SE board, but I would like to know if there is a solution for plugging the board in the PC. Each time I plug it in a new USB port, I have to install the driver again. Even though I've installed it many times, it can never recognize it. I am not sure if it is something that is Windows inf driver related or the USB Descriptors ...

Hi, I'm working on a handheld equipment running on AT91SAM7XC512. Currently we use USB CDC class to realize virtual COM communications with host, everything is working fine after some modification to ATMEL USB Framework. But the data rate of virtual COM is a little bit low, because we need to download chunk of data from the device to host. We plan to migrate to USB class with higher speed. ...

Hi, I encountered the following strange behavior with early SAM7S64 and SAM7S256 chips. It seems hardware keeps resetting USB registers as long as the BUS is in reset state. During this period UDP_IMR and UDP_CSR registers can not be changed. This can be painful if the firmware tries to configure endpoint0 before enabling the USB pull-up resistor if the USB cable is connected. I tested...

I noticed today that my USB CDC I/O seems to be running significantly slower than the equivalent USART I/O. I'm getting about 11 kbytes/sec from the USART port at 115.2kbps, and only about 1 kbyte/sec from the emulated USB com port. I started poking around in my USB code and discovered that apparently I'm only sending a single byte per bulk IN transaction.

First off, I do not know and do not have too much time learning USB. I need to have limited USB Host functionality for my design. It will ONLY connect to an iPod using HID. What is the easiest way to do this. I have looked at Cypress and NXP host controllers. But I have no idea if I need to buy some 3rd-party USB host stack or is it semi-straight forward to roll your own (keeping in mind my l...

I'm trying to get started with the ATA91SAM7X-EK and having problems getting SAM_BA to see the board. Plugging the USB connector between my PC and the board causes the PC to notice the new device, (it calls it an HID device! ??). SAM_BA v1.8 says "-E- DEVICE NOT FOUND on USB!". Powering the board via its USB port and the supplied USB wall-wart, I then tried to use a COM port. This appea...

Any recommendations for production programming of an AT91SAM7S128 USB product? Are there any inexpensive BP type programmers that handle these MCUs? How about USB SW solutions that are more efficent than SAM-BA? I guess there's no way around pulling up the TST pin to load a virgin chip via USB.

Hello Everyone, I found what the problem was that I was having with the USB showing up for some applications and not for others. As it turns out, the sample CDC routines that Atmel has in their BasicUSB demo does not store the line settings (such as baud rate, parity, stop bits, etc.) since USB doesn't need them. This routine accepts and acks

I've written my own USB bootloader and it is ALMOST working. I'd like to describe my approach and ask for any ideas on what is wrong. First, I'm using IAR C-compiler, my own hardware with an AT81SAM7S256 mpu with USB. All bootloader and USB stack code is located at 3B000 (top 16 k of the 256 flash), and will only allow updating of the lower 240k (more than enough for my application). M...
