I'm having problems establishing serial communications (COM3) between BX-24 and an X10 light automation interface - the "PowerLinc II" (uses serial ASCII communication and not the older 523 interface). Does anyone have any experience with this - or know of any good resources

Is there any way to send data from BX24 to PC or from BX24 to another microcontroller other than placing them in a byte array to be sent by com1 or com3? i am using an infrared sensor and so far i can use debug. print to print the value on the PC but i will need to send this data to another microcontroller with at least 2 to 3 decimal places. any ideas? Hi guys, I'm new about BX24P. But I've realized a little software that it can get a fixed number of bytes from COM1, extracts some information and generates a new byte array that it sends through COM3. Now, really it cannot get a fixed number of byte, but it must get all bytes from COM1 until it receive a special chars (for example, "X" 88 decimal). Now I'll show you a portion of the ...

I have a project interfacing a hand-held GPS unit and displaying data at higher numerical resolution than the GPS unit itself displays, and then doing post-processing on the data. I use Com1 to get data from the GPS unit. I do not need to send ANY data to the unit. Com3 is used exclusively for output to an LCD serial display. I am running

I have not been able to find even one code sample for reading servo position. My best attempt is in the code snippet below but it just returns 0 if I use data pins (Com3) for input and output. If I use Com1 (pins 1 and 2) it hangs indefinitely. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I have a small sensor board that passes data from a pair of sensors to a remote app LESS THAN 5 meters from the sensor location. This is currently done with a hardwire RS232 link on Com3. The link is two-way, in that the app requests data and the sensor board responds. Other than this there is no handshaking of any type. I would like to eliminate this cabled link by transmitting the data via

I'd like to use the transmit only capability of COM3, and it appears that DefineCom3 allows one to specify pin 0 as a dummy input pin. Does that also mean that the input buffer specified on OpenCom will not be referenced? I don't see a way to specify a NULL buffer on OpenCom. Has

I am using the Parallax RFID Reader with the BX-24P. I have COM3 communicating, and I can read the World Tag Unique 12 byte tags. The problem is, it isn't consistent. It seems that sometimes I just don't get any output from the tag. I have tried all the obvious things; moving the tags closer to the reader, keeping everything away from metal objects, different tags (World Tag 50mm, 30mm, and

I have a project with a BX-24 where I need an additional serial port. COM1 is already used for debugging and to read&write configuration data with a VB program. COM3 is already used to read and write data to an external device. I also need another serial port to read data from a GPS at regular intervals. Is there a way to read serial data @ 4800 bauds on the BX-24 if COM1 and COM...
