EXCUSE THE CAPS. I THINK THE RAT RACE FOR USB IS PLAIN FOOLISH. WE WOULD ALL BE BETTER OFF WITH PLAIN HIGH SPEED DOS AND REAL SERIAL PORTS. Hi all, i'm hoping to get some help with a project, the first part is to be able to connect a mouse/touchpad* to the BX24, it can be usb or ps/2 (although from my research i think ps/2 with a ps/2 to serial converter would probably be best) then obtain the vector changes for XY and debug.print them, help with this would be great. *i want to use a touchpad for the final device. thanks a...

Hi, The BasicX 24 Chip Hangs When a USB-to-Serial cable is unplugged then plugged back in. I have created a simple version of code to re-create the issue. The following basicx code will open the COM1 serial port. It will then flash a light on and off on PIN 5 while the code is looping. The code is downloaded to my BX24 Chip (hosted on a BX24 Development Station) via a USB-to-Serial cable....

FWIW: The HP 1000 Photo Scanner is a small USB 4"x6" flatbed scanner. While trying to figure out how to cannabalize the guts to build a scanning camera, I found that it logically looks like a USB thumbdrive that holds 17MB. Under Windows, once connected

Hi everyone, I tried to use a USB-Serial adapter to download the "Hello World" Program to my BX24. I used a Serial Socket manually soldered to the wires connecting to PIN1-4 to connect with the adapter, I grounded PIN5 and PIN23, and supplied 6V to PIN24. However, when I 'compile and run', the following error message appears about a pause: writing to internal EEPROM varifying internal EEPRO...

I started using the BX24 recently, I acquired the USB-Serial adapter from Netmedia and after sometime is stopped working, (error code 10) was the reason, doing some research I found that this was caused by counterfeit Prolific hardware, so I decided to buy another USB-Serial adapter from an authorized Prolific dealer, I installed the driver and the error code disappeared, however I do not get comm...

The same thing can happen just by restarting Windows on XP machines. It sounds like the ATN line is toggling when the USB dongle is connected. You may need to disconnect the ATN line between the serial cable and the processor to prevent this from happening Here is the info from the manual: Serial Port Connector Once you've downloaded a program to the BX-24 chip, the development board's ...

Hi all I'm using the prolific USB-2-serial converter, called PL2303. Recently installing windows 7 64-bit I installed the latest (3.3.5.122) driver and it seem to work ok with TeraTermPro. But it didn't work with BasicX. I fixed the problem by downgrading the PL2303 driver from v. 3.3.5.122 to 3.2.0.0 and bingo, BasicX software are no longer reporting "run-time error '8020'". I've tested ...
