Hi all, I'm really losing my mind now, been fighting with this for 8 days now, I give up. I hope you can tell me what's wrong in my setup. :( I self made a PIC18F8720 development board, and it seems to work, because I can program the chip with no problems. I'm using 100 nF SMD capacitors near every Vdd (including AVdd), and an integrated clock oscillator. It's a 24 MHz CMOS part by Epso...

Does anybody know of a cmos based camer that has an intergrated microcontroler which can be programed to process images, background subtraction - point tracking and then stream custom data across tcp/ip? It just seems so wrong to be using usb cameras, I'm streaming 4 into my computer at the moment and the bandwidth on my usb2 is already critical - what i want is a cloud of customisable visi...

Hi all. I am doing a project on building a radiocontrolled model submarine. I have been thinking about incorperating a small lowresolution camera in the sub, then I found this forum and started reading on CMOS image sensors. The main problem is the transmitting up to the surface. I have developed a theory on using some ultrasonic transducers to get a data transfer speed at 320 kilo bit per ...

Hi everyone, the great DSLR camera manufacturers like CANON or Sony equip their camera now with CMOS sensors. I could find out, that they develop their sensors on their own. Does anybody know do they also sell their sensors for custom designs? Thanks in advance, Wolfgang Kopp

I've had this pocket calculator to 10 to 20 years: marked "2 penlight..for over 22,00 hours of continuous use, -- auto shut off". It's use for a few minutes, about 10 times a year. I replace the AAs approx after 2 years. I think it's got a [originally Fairchild of '70] F8 u-proc. inside. Q. It must be [partially] live all the time, to read the on-key, or can a single CMOS gate acheiv...

Hi, I' m looking for solutions to interface a 1.3Mpixels CMOS image sensor, I' ve thought to use a FPGA but it seems to be a little expensive. What about the market? Is there dedicated circuits to realize the interface and stock the data? Is there processors with DMA transfert which allow to interface the sensor? Thanks for your help.

I'm attempting to interface a CMOS camera module [C328-7640] to my PC via the RS232 com1 port to learn how to interface with the chip. The modem cable is working ( I tested it by connecting the Tx & Rx pins (2& 3) then opened hyperterminal and when I type any letters they get written on the terminal ) I put both the schematic and how the breadboard is wired on my website to show what I d...

Hello all, I am helping a local wildlife conservation group research the the feasibility of a digital camera which can last for about 3 weeks with out being recharged (they approached a few camera companies and were told that the number of cameras ordered would be too low for them to be interested). The camera will be located outdoors in a wooded area with no access to power, and the 3 ...

Hello, I'm working on a personal project where I'd like to basically make my own webcam from scratch. I am looking for a camera in the VGA/15fps range. The most important factor in my design is form factor. I'd like to make it as "pencil-like" as possible. For example, I basically want something like this: http://www.aurora-optical.com/modules/CM036U%20Preliminary%208-8-07.pdf from Aurora O...

Hi, Taking advantage of a good exchange rate to the USA at present, I bought a coolrunner 2 CPLD evaluation kit from xilinx. I didn't check the IO standards of the supplied device though. I've now found it uses LVTTL amongst other things. The top end voltages of LVTTL is about mid range on standard bipolar TTL and in the linear area of CMOS. Does anyone have any experience of in...

Hello, I am currently working on a project using the Omnivision OV6620 CMOS color image sensor (the same one used by the CMUcam). I have the OV6620 interfaced to an Atmel AVR microcontroller, and I am able to extract images from the camera and display them on a PC (through a PC app I wrote...the images get sent up over the serial port). Anyway...my question has to do with the Bayer image ...

Hay, I have just purchase a cmos 3088 and planning to build my own camera from it. I am just wondering what are the others components that I need to purchase to build the camera. I also want to do some image processing so that the camera can take the x-y coordinates for a black object's centroid, therefore I need to use a micro controller, any body have a code for that? I am planning to use atme...

I need to design a card that has a 3.3 volt processor on it, a couple of 5 volt CMOS parts, and interface to TTL. This is turning into a headache, so I'd appreciate some advice from experienced system/logic designers. Let me start by telling you what I think I know, and you can correct me. The processor is called 5 volt tolerant, which seems to mean it will handle a 5.1 volt input w...

Hello, I'm working on an imaging system which uses C3188A digital cmos camera(contains OV7620 image sensor). It is controlled by a PIC18F452 and each frame I want to view is stored in a FIFO buffer, AL422B. I can store a frame and transfer it to my PC by RS232. Hi, I interfaced a Micron MT9T001 with Spartan3 evaluation board, I can save a fragment of image on SRAM, and now deciding which USB controller to use so that I can transfer the raw image data to PC directly from the sensor. The bandwidth for the output data needs 30MB/s (640*480*98fps). I used FT2232 before but it supports up to 1Mb/s only, so I am finding a IC USB controller that can support...
