Hi all, I'm working on an application with a LPC2104 storing data on a memory card, which is connected through RS232 (using only the ground, TX and RX) to an Ezurio's WIFI module. I programmed the microcontroller using C, and when I connect it on a computer to check whether it is working, everything is OK. Same goes for the WIFI module, programmed using Ezurio's UWScript. However, when I conne...

Hello group, I'm curently trying to get familiar with the ARM7 by building some example-projects for a LPC2106-controller. One such project is the blinky_irq example from Keil which should demonstrate the use of interrupts and of the LPC2xxx vectored interrupt controller. I'm using gcc-3.2.1 with binutils 3.13.1 and newlib 1.11.0 . So far I had no problems with these tools and I was abl...

Hi, I'm involved in a project where we are building a still image capture device. We have a CMOS image sensor (Pixart PAS106B) connected via I2C to a philips lpc2106 (Arm 7) microcontroller. I'm able to capture images without trouble, however, I notice - depending on the ambient light - my image is either too light or too dark. To correct this problem, I want to write a small (hopefully ...

Greetings, I am reading mixed information about the ability to program the 2106 using a parallel port wiggler. Some say that it is only possible to program the device via RS232 but others say that it is possible to do the JTAG programming. What am I missing? What do I need to have to be able to use JTAG for programming the chip if possible? Thank you, -- A

Greetings, I am having a problem understanding how to setup an SMD ceramic crystal to work with an LPC2106 micro. Maybe its the crystal part that I do not get. What is the load capacitance? Is it the capacitance that the crystal exerts on the circuit? How do I pick the capacitor values required, and how do I know that they are needed? The part I am looking at is http://www.abracon.com/R...

I want to set a colleague's son up to work on some simple ARM projects on an LPC2106, using material I have on hand. I have plenty of EVBs etc lying about, but the only JTAG adapters I have are a few Keil ULINK2s and a Rowley CrossConnect. Is there any free debugger that works with either of these adapters? Thanks.

Hello, we are looking for development tools (IDE and simple In-Circuit Debugger) for the Philips LPC210x (ARM7) controller family, particularly at the lower priced end. Maybe there are some more makers of "smaller" de...

With ul defined as: unsigned long *ul; The function function1 returns a pointer to void. For the following line, ul = ( unsigned long * ) function1(); GCC uses R0 to return the function1() result which is 0x40000625, the instruction: STR R0, [R4,#0...

I am designing a board using a Philips LPC2114 (nice chip). It uses 1.8v for the core, 3.3v for I/O, and I also need 5v for some other circuits on the board. None of them use much current. The power supply is a 12v battery. What is the best way to get these voltages, without running down the battery? Is there a single device, such as a DC/DC converter that can produce these voltages? ...

We'd like to use the Philips LPC2114 in a new design (we need 8 capture channels, a serial port etc.), but all the dealers say the lead time is 24 weeks. We can't possibly wait this long to have a pilot series manufactured. Is there any place where we could buy, say 50 of these MCU's _now_ or do we need to use some other chip? I would consider using the new Atmel AT91SAM... chips, but the...

I sent this message to FTDI, but have not received a reply. Maybe someone here can answer this question. I have built a board using the FT2232C where I am using the MPSSE mode for JTAG. I am noticing that when I use the 6E command to read dat...
