I found a couple of manufactures that have a PC104 CF Adapter with Battery Back S-Ram onboard but they must be out of business because no replies for more info. Hi all I am new to this embedded scene and I really need some help. I am trying to assemble a PC104 camera solution that fullfills the following criteria: - must use as little power as possible - obviously the cheaper the better :) - the camera startup time must be very quick - the time needed for taking a picture must be very quick (fast moving subjects) - the camera must be able to ...

I'll admit now that I have never dealt with PC104, therefore I may be asking for something silly, I don't know. I have an application in mind where I will need to capture a composite feed and audio, compress these to MP4 or similar and record to a hard drive. I will also need to be able to add an overlay/OSD to the incoming image, the overlay becoming part of the final video that is compr...

Hi, i am starting entering on the fixed wing VANT reasearch field, and i was browsing the options for the control system architecture. I could find two possible ways i could go. A TMS570 microcontroller + Some safe RTOS (SafeRTOS, =ECC/OS-II...), or a PC104 (with non defined processor architecture) + QNX. In most of the cases the last is the one that got much more horsepower, but still is he...

Hi, We are a group working on our senior project, and a little desperate for help. We received an warning saying that there is an overlaps between address(I don't remember the exact address): remote kernel..... We tried to run a simple C program on a PC104 board. We have tried to change the segment address, but it seemed that the warning was not affected at all. We have also tried...

I'm writing an Embedded XP application that must conserve power when not in full use. The application monitors a PC104 Analog/DIO card once per second when the 1st Dig In is set, When that bit clears, I need to write a couple of files then go into some sort of low power state. It then needs to check that bit every minute, and if it's set, then go back into full swing. Besides that, it r...

This is my following configuration: - embedded pc104 board AAEON PFM-530I - programmable electricity meter with rs485 interface for communication. Now, setting a few jumpers on the board toggles an rs485 port on ttyS1. My specific problem is this: i don't seem to connect the board and the meter correctly. This is what...

The embedded computers that are used in military helicopters, jet fighters, most probably pc104 for reading data. What software do they use, can this be purchased on the commercial market? Better still mining companies reading data having many embedded computers around the mine sites, using high resolution graphics. What software or operating system do they use? Thanks Simon

Working on 32-bit microcontroller design that needs to interface to industrial PC (mini-ITX, PC104, etc.) over short 3-meter cable. It is an industrial application and the design will be DIN rail mounted along side PLC's, relays, etc. Any thoughts as to whether USB or Ethernet would be best? Cost is a concern. Since this application's cable length requirement is short, does this make U...

I'm about to design a PC104+ board for a client with a largish FPGA on it, this will be driven by an SBC running XP embedded. A couple of factors mean there could be a delay of ~1 second until the FPGA has fully configured and I'm worried the SBC could have enumerated the PCI bus before the FPGA is ready to respond. I know in Linux you can force the system to re-enumerate the bus fairly ...
