Hi, I have a custom made communication gateway PCB with an AT90CAN128 microcontroller. The PCB card has its own 6 PIN ISP interface that i connect to the 6 PIN ISP of the STK500 board. The STK500 board is connected to the PC through the standard RS232 programming port. I am using AVR studio 4 to download the program onto the controller's flash memory. When i try to access the controller's ...

I am looking for low cost PCB layout software. My designs are not overly complex, and are on small boards, but I will be using very small parts and features ~0.4mm/0.016" pitch, .006"/.006" trace/space. I have looked at a couple of web sites that list free software and have found two types of packages; the no strings attached open source packages that are not very mature or run on xNIX (and...

Hi all. I'm working on a motor servo-loop which uses a 16-bit DAC to drive a single-supply op-amp which in turns drives a small brushed DC motor ( < 20mA @ 12V). The op-amp / motor combo have been tested and work well. I'm now going to make a few prototypes so I can work on the control-loop but I'm very worred about the PCB layout. Any suggestions on how to keep the DAC's GND noisy fr

I could not find much info on users of FreePCB, so I started a Yahoo group. FreePCB is an open source program for PCB layout. It works with a PADSPCB netlist from any schematic package. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FreePCB/ Come check it out and let us know if you are a user. http://www.freepcb.com/

Hi all. I've been working with CAN for a few years and very good it is too. I currently have a project where we need to implement two micros on one PCB and implementing CAN between them seems the easiest way for them to communicate. As far as I know all I need is to cross connect the Tx and Rx lines and everyting should work OK, no need for transceivers as it's a short connection and o...

Hello, First off, thank you to every one of you for answering the other thread. It's given me plenty to research and perhaps over analyse. I think I'm going to go for the ready kit put together by Rapid, this is written up below. But before I do that I'm left wondering something.. Where I have my nails done they use one of the little UV boxes. They're here on eBay; http://cgi.ebay.c...

What is a good part number to put on a PCB that connects to the 3 wire "CD Audio" cable that comes from an ATAPI CD or DVD drive? I know I can just put a .1" header, but it looks like the PC boards use a keyed receptacle that also provides some friction to hold it in place. Thanks.
