Hi, All. We are trying to implement atmega90CAN128. Could anybody advise a program (preferably with source ) that would sniff CAN-bus transactions and send data to e.g. RS232 port? Or advise why this my desire may be unreasonable? Thanks, Alex

Hello All, although most of our (industrial) clients still use to have computers with a "real" serial port, I observe a small but increasing number struggling with bad USB adapters and asking for other interfaces. Therefore I'm reconsidering the best suited interface for device configuration and diagnosis. Do you still use EIA-232? Customers complaining? What do you consider a suita...

Hello, I am trying to test a modem by pinging it with some data at 38400 baud using an 8N1 format over a serial RS232 link. I was wondering if someone had code (for WinXp) for a software UART which will do the same. Any suggestions/ideas/comments on the same will be most welcome. Thanks, ~Tanmay Z.

Hi All, I support a product that's been manufactured with a bug in the flash memory of the microcontroller. The factory has come up with a solution and the design allows the update to be loaded via the products RS232 connector, so this part is simple. When the update is done I need to go into the adjustment menu and manually edit 116 different locations in the EEPROM according to a table...

[for those unfamiliar with these types of scanners, in general, they typically have several interfaces on board and *one* is selected for use by the choice of cable connecting ...

I want to connect the UART of the micro (LPC2100) to a cell phone serial port. Both devices should probably have short circuit protection but neither use +-15V true RS232 specs. Do I need a line driver chip between or is there a simpler (less cost/parts) way of making the connection? Thanks.

Actually the AT90S2313 board but with an ATTINY2313 processor. I can program it with PonyProg2000 and the accompanying parallel port adapter, but am wondering if anyone here has used the same adaptor to communicate with the board. The memory dump shows it has a test menu already built-in. Or do I need to use RS232 to talk to it? Thanks -- jc
