Hi, According to the MCF5272 datasheet, and the schematic, the address line A22 and A23 of ColdFire are to be treated as SDBA0 and SDBA1 and connected to BA0 and BA1 of the SDRAM respectively. But when the register value is set according to the above, the SDRAM initialisation faces problem. But when i set a value in such a way that the address lines A23 and A24 of ColdFire are connecte...

Does anyone have a repository of datasheets or at least valid signal descriptions for uPD series chips used in Matsushita (Panasonic) camcorders, vcrs, etc.? Currently I am seeking data on the uPD9313G or uPD9313GB video sync generator; the pin descriptions for this part, on a schematic in a camcorder service manual, are incorrect, as evidenced by a block diagram which labels the pins enti...

Hi, I have tried interfacing 28c64 with 8051 using 74ls573.. exact eeprom ic no. is D28c64c-25. First I wrote a simple program to write single byte in first location of eeprom by tying WR of 8051and WE of 28c64..I kept OE high.. And LE of 74ls573 to ground.. I have connected higher address A8 to A12 from port P2 directly to 28c64.. When I was tryi...

(reposted due to error in URL embedded in previous post -- can't cancel through our nntp host) Hello all, Although this is certainly elementary, I thought I'd share it since it may help someone in a pinch; here is my simple technique to create a preliminary schematic from a populated 1 or 2 sided pcb: http://ipx1.cybertheque.org/homebrew/pcb-photog/ Regards, Michael Grigoni Cy...

I want to build an arm board to run linux. I'm not really interested in buying a board and messing around with it. I would go for a schematic though. Any pointers on how I could get started? I have heard mixed advice from people. Some say the atmel arm microcontrollers are pretty easy to hook up to other components, some say it's not that simple. I just want to know how I can get started.

Hi, I think this has been discussed here before, but a search on google groups did not provide much info. I am looking for software to help with document control. I typically have the following documents for a project. 1. Schematic Source files as well as PDF versions. 2. PCB Source files as well as PDF and Gerber versions 3. Datasheets on all the ICs used. User manuals etc. on more comp...

Hello everyone, I have a (maybe) simple problem I don't know exactly how to face up. I am given a digital schematic design (which is made by a third person) that realizes simple bus peripherals inside a Altera MAX CPLD. The design is quite simple: the address bus along with the data bus and the READ signals are brought as inputs of the CPLD (outputs are not considered here). There is a combi...

I am new to schematic design and studying OLinuXino A10s schematics. A generic question : How do we decide the resistor & capacitor values required to interface multiple ICs on a pcb ? E.x. I am unable to understand why a 22ohm resistor is present in the clock signal (SCK,SCK# pins - W2, Y1 ) from A10s to SDRAM (h5tq2g83cfr-h9c) (CK, CK# pins - F7, G7). It is not given in either of their da...

Hi, On our project, we are considering an ARM with a USB interface (Atmel AT91SAM7S256). From looking at the datasheet, it appears that we need an 18.432 MHz crystal for the USB to operate at full speed. Is this correct? The datasheet seems to be a bit ambiguous in this regard. I looked at the schematic for Atmel's AT91SAM7S-EK evaluation board and noticed that they are using an 18.432 ...

I've been helping to beta test version 3 of Pulsonix for the last few months. It has now been released and is available for download from: http://www.pulsonix.com. Without a license it's a full working demo (up to 100 pins for schematic entry and PCB design) and Pulsonix will provide a 30 day license for a fuller evaluation on request. Pulsonix support is excellent and bugs get fixed v...

I want to build my own hardware programmer to program the Microchip PIC18 series of devices. I want to use the parallel port or possibly the USB port. I don't want to use the serial port because they are now obsolete and no longer ship on newer computers. USB-to-Serial adapters cannot be used because programmers like IC-Prog and WinPic cannot work with these "virtual" serial ports - they need...

Hi, in the CodeWarrior v7.2 for the Freescale hybrid 56800/E DSP series it is stated the IDE can program e.g. 56F8322 using the Motorola JTAG Parallel Port Converter (which, as this is a hobby project, I'm not very inclined to buy for > $200 and wait 4+ weeks for). One (inofficial?) schematic for the Motorola JTAG Parallel Port Converter is apparently at http://www.hc08.cz/attachment

Anyone know how the USB Blaster cable loads data to the C3 fpga on the board? The schematic shows a CPLD between the FPGA and the USB port. There is a USB to parallel chip between the cpld and the usb port. But I do not see any serial or parallel data going to the fpga. I wish Altera added more details to the starter kit documentation. There is all this source code but it is encrypted. So...
