What do you'll think? (please only tell me if you have used both MCUs). My issue is, I have been working 2 or 3 nights to get interrupt driven USARTS working in C for my avr.. and no luck.. I feel if the documentation was better (even though they gave examples), this would of taken that long.. Is the documentaiton for the lpc2*** that much better than A

This is Me http://www.linkedin.com/in/davidrwilcox I am currently working on my Graduate thesis. I chose an ARM7 core processor, LPC2148, for my project. I was wondering what the best free/ish compiler loader out there is. I have used Atmel 8051 with AVR Studio. I was looking for something comprable so I could watch ports and debug while building programs. Any suggestions? I ha...

Has anyone replaced the LPC214x boot loader with their own code? If so how much of a hassle is it? Is Phillip's planning on coming out with a boot loader upgrade to support USB? Perhaps via CDC serial emulation, similar to the Atmel? This would require no change to their PC software, and no PC side driver. Joel

Atmel states on their microcontroller page that they have an ARM1176JZF-S (ARM11) in the works. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything on this? I'm wondering if it will come in anything other than BGA, a sampling date, will they supply development tools (WinAVR and MkII JTAG versions for it would be awesome). ------------------------------------

I am trying to port a basic USB CDC stack from an AT90USB162 to the LPC2148 (rather than paying for something like an FT232RL), and it seems on the atmel chips you can use PROGMEM to store variables in flash memory rather than using SRAM (which is good since the AT90USB162 only has 512 bytes of it). I was wondering if there is a straight forward way to do the same with an lpc2100? All of the d...
