I have a program that has several 16x16 tables that are stored in fixed locations in flash memory. I'm using Keil's compiler and using the _at_ attribute to do this, it works great. My tables change quite often but the code does not change at all. I'd like a w

Hi everybody... ...another beginners problem. I am unable to communicate with my LPC2138-Board from olimex using the Philips Flash Utility. First it worked well, but now I can't even Read the Chip-ID. I tried a newer version and another program (Flash Magic). All without success. The Board itself seems to be ok since the leds are still blinking after reset. I suppose I somehow corrup...

Hi, I'm trying to establish connection with Philips Flash Utility and an Olimex 2106 mt board without success. TheBSL jumper is shorted and the frequency set at 14745kHz (14.7456MHz). Different baudrates have been tried without success. I am not sure about the DTR/RTS settings however. Also I may be using the wrong RS232 cable. Null modem or not? I'll have to check that. I intend to use the

I am using the Keil uVision development environment with the GNU tools for a Philips LPC2148. Using the version of GCC currently being shipped with the debugger (3.3.1 or some such thing - it's 2.5 yrs old) I stepped through the branch to _start at the end of my startup assembly file that sets exception vectors, stacks, etc. It bounced around a bit then hit a SWI instruction and decided th

Few weeks ago I asked here (but not only here, in Philips Technical Support too) about JTAG commands used for Flash memory programming in LPC2K devices. In fact, nobody has given me complete answer. Similar problems I've had with STMicroelectronics Technical Support. Is there anybody who know why uCs producers are so secretive? Piotr

Ok, so it seems I'm not the only one concerned with BGA prototyping or 'hobbiest' use of such devices. What kind of expense have people experienced for board manufacturing? I have used subcontractors to load boards with *LOTS* of BGA devices, and if I recall correctly, there was a $3k NRE charge to setup the reflow machines. We had a bad FPGA on one board, and that same company was able t

Hi, Since some of Philips's people seem to be reading this group. How many people think they should change the crappy PC compatible UARTs to something else ? UARTS that can generate interrupt when the last bit has been transmitted to make it easier to switch a RS-485 buffer for example. A proper 9 bit mode. The possibility to read how many characters are
