Dear All, Do u have this problem like : when vary the Vcc value ,the ADC value also be varied. The dVcc_ dADCvalue is linear. such as Frequency vs Supply voltage figure. I think it may have some relation, but i'm not found it . and how to use the DCO only in MSP430F42x0. Thx! BR, Jerry ------------------------------------

Hey there, I'm new to these forums and I've got a bit of an odd question. I'm working with an MSP430 microcontroller and using an ADC to check battery voltage on my device. The ADC10MEM register returns a value somewhere between 0x0000 and 0x03FF depending on battery levels. I'm displaying the result by outputing via USART to hyperterminal. I've got a function that allows me to send a...

I have read the posts regarding ADC, but still have some doubts. Hope all don't mind my query. I have a 0-5v signal which I need to measure. The signal is "slow" (pressure in a vessel) and does change, but not rapidly (I would like to sample the level at 1 minute intervals approximately). The sensor's maximum current is 100mA. My doubts are: 1. Is just a simple resistor divider really...

Hello, I am new to the MSP430, we are using the MSP430F169. We are having trouble initializing the ADC, taking a DC voltage input, and then displaying the proper DC voltage on the LCD screen (or AC voltage). I know this is a fairly low level task but none of us can seem to grasp it. We have a small C background, but this part is tricking us it seems. We have tried using the Line In audio...

Hi all. A friend and I got the ezMSP430 USB programmers and are really having fun with them. Because I wanted a 'straight' 10-bit ADC, I immediately got some 2012's and layed out a board for them. My friend still has just the 2013 on the ez target board. I understand it has a sigma delta ADC. There seems to be a lack of documentation about this feature. And, TI has just announced a 3-...

Dear all, I am completely new to the use of MSP430 family micro-controllers but I need to develop an application that utilizes the MSP430(F449) ADC and UART. I have 4 analogue inputs that need to be converted and then sent over the USART over RS-232. I am using IAR Embedded workbench. From the examples that I could get from the TI web-site, I am able to do 'something'. i.e. I can utili

Hi Sam, Of course SAR could be realized, but what it would take would either : - be too many components, as you'd need a DAC-like function. Either you'd be using the MSP430's DAC, and that one has an ADC on board anyway. - Or you'd use PWM as the DAC, and to be accurate enough you'd need a good deal of active filtering (opamps) to make for a clean SAR ref voltage for the conversion.

Hi, I 'm using MSP430F449 which has a build-in 12 bits ADC. I use the internal ref voltage (2.5V) as V+ and AVSS as V-. Hi All- I'm still working on this voice recorder app that you've all heard so much about by now. I've got every subsystem working at this point - ADC12, USART0 for PC comm, USART1 for SPI with flash memory, etc. Now it's time to pull them all together. I'd like to capture audio at 8KHz, 8 bits per sample. So I'm going to set up a timer to kick over the ADC in single-conversion mode, then u

Hi~ I am doing some testing with the MSP430FG461x processor right now in an attempt to get the current consumption under 100 microamperes. The program uses the ADC to obtain temperature, then display it onto the LCD. Whenever I measure the current on the board, it shows up as lower 500 to upper 600 microamps. This is sounding an alarm in my head because 1) while not interrupting, t...

Al, I did what you said and it works! Thanks. I'm not sure yet if using CCR1 to trigger the ADC will work in the final application, because the A/D conversion has to happen after the event triggered by CCR2, so if CCR1 triggers the conversion, it may happen too soon. In that case, we might have no choice but to use software to trigger the ADC. If you have any further suggestions, I'll be

I posted a similar question a while ago but didn't post enough info. I use MSP430F169. I use ADC12 to measure different inputs at a time. the problem is that the ADC once in a while (which makes it hard to debug) is stuck and doesn't finish conversion. for example if I expect the ADC12IFG to be 0xFFFF at the end of the conversion I see that it is 0xFFFE. during debug if I force '1' at ADC12SC...
