I am planning on using the ADC on a 169 to monitor several voltages that I will be using, and I was wonder what size series resistor do you guys recommend using? Also do yall protect your basic I/O with resistors? I attended last years ATC and they did some demonstrations of the output to a LCD with and without resistors, and who static discharge effected the lines without resistors. My

Dear all, My situation is to build a battery-powered sensoing device using MSP430F449 and I would like to use the build-in ADC to measure the 0- 3V analog data. We use a DC-DC convertor to provide a stable 3V to all the analog ICs and also I would like to fed it to AVCC and also use it as ADC 's reference. But the efficiency of the DC-DC convertor is not so good, so, I

hi all, I want to connect up the reference pins to get the ADC going on my MSP430F1491. Am I right in saying that i connect Vref+ and VeREF+ to Vcc and VREF- to ground? this is what i have done in the past with other microcontrollers but just checking if thats the correct usage here. cheers Yuri Johnson

Hello, I have so far not been able to post, even though I have signed up and verified my email - so I shall try once more. I am attempting to read two ADC ports on a 2252 - A0 and A15. The original code was ported from a 1232 part, and read the voltage on A0 properly. With my added A15 code, I consistently get an ADC reading of 895 decimal, when the input voltage should resove to around ...

Hi, This will expose my ignorance of the C language I'm sure, but here goes: I'm taking 12 bit samples with the ADC on a '169, and need to send them out the SPI interface, which is of course only 7 or 8 bits.. So I was thinking, 3*8 bits is 24 bits, and 2 * 12 bits is 24 bits. So perhaps I could declare a union to do this. Something like: union sample { ????????adc[2] ????????spi[3]

Hello I am working on a project which contains MSP4302013 and have problem relating to radiated rf immunity. Under 10 V/m and 200 -350 MHz frequency range, the radiation caused adc error of %1. Wha= t I did was connect a series resistance of 200 Ohm in the current path and = measure voltage across the resistance using ADC port. Hi, Is there a method to calibrate the input to the ADC on the MSP430F427 devices? There seems to be a little bit of an offset in my devices (and it varies from device to device) and I was looking for a way to compensate for this without having to short out one of the ADC inputs. Thanks, Ken

I am having trouble using the SD16 in a msp430f423. I would like to verify the following: There are three separate ADCs in this device Each ADC can select one of three input channels (Can multiple ADCs select the same channel??) The output registers SD16MEMx correspond to the ADC, not the physical input channel. Are these assumptions correct? Thansk Rich

Hi, after some tests with a '149 I can tell you that AVCC >= VCC-0.3V A unconnected AVCC-pin already has a voltage of 3.28V (with 3.6VCC, ADC and VREF sometimes enabled). I tried a 3V regulator (79730) and I got 2.97volts, after connecting AVCC I got 3.05volts and the current consumption increases (the current looks very ugly in the osci, the current spikes of the ADC grows in time).
