I have a small circuit with MSP430F449 and a small test code that initializes and sleeps that is all. The current consumption is more than 10 mA!!! (I have an analog tester, with max of 10mA). The chip is in sleep mode, how could this be possible? The other components I have are max3221, which is in auto shutdown mode with 15uA, SST EEprom with 1uA standby current, TSP7201 (which not powe

Hi, I need to define a variable in ram that must keep its value after watchdog reset. I defined simply a unsigned long variable. I wrote a value but after watchdog reset its value was different. I need to do it to check if I came to some software sentence from power up or from watchdog. I haven't possibility for doint it in EEPROM. Please, could somebody help me? Thanks. Clau...

Should the flash memory in MSP430 be used only for downloading of data or i= s it advisable to use flash memory for data logging considering 100000 time= s writing capability of flash. In my current project I require to keep log of event at MSP ports. I would = have to write say approx 500=C2=A0bytes a day and the application is suppos= ed to work for around 10 years. Or should I use EEPROM ...

hi !!! I am having problem with reading and writing data to FRAM using the I2C bus. I am using FM24CL16 connected to MSP430F1610. I have tried using the sample application code of EEPROM+I2C on the same ( i changed the address of FRAM) , but im unable to read and write. The problem is that I2CDRB register doesnt get updated with the new value. Can someone please tell me how to go a

Hi, I'm new here and experimenting with the ez430. I tried searching but it seems the I2C eeproms are more popular and there is little info on the F2012. I hooked up a Nokia 3310 LCD using SPI bit bang code by Marcel Cremmel to my F2012, which worked great, but now need to put the font and Graphics data in an EEPROM to save code memory for actual code. I found the application note on ...

Hi, I'm developing an I2C slave device based on a MSP430F169. Another 'F169 is the master (for testing) and every now and then, the communication breaks down. The master's application is derived from TI app note slaa208 "Interfacing an EEPROM to the MSP430 I2C Module". I'm implementing a I2C bootloader for the slave device, and the control flow goes like this: 1a) Master

Has anyone used the Atmel Dataflash? AT45DB021B? I'm working on porting my eeprom code over to it and their description of the addressing is a bit confusing. It has a 24 bit address. The low 9 bits address the bytes within a page, the next 11 address the specific 264 byte page (yes, 264 not 256). The top 4 are for larger parts and are 0 in this case. What I haven't sorted out yes is whethe

Hi I am trying to interface a DS1624 Thermometer/Memory to a MSP430FG4618 in C language on its I2C interface [P3.1, P3.2]. Would anybody have any simple C language code examples using this chip OR ANY EEPROM etc I2C interface to a TI MSP430FG4618 in C?. I have searched but found very little and what I did find was not really usefull. I would want to access it directly and not by interupt....

I am looking for design examples with the MSP430 of storing data in exteranl serial SPI Flash or EEprom. I also need referals to consultants who could adapt the code to store data in 64K serial SRAM for the MSP 430/Serial SRAM demoboard we are designing Gary ------------------------ Yahoo!
