A few of my recent posts have been about interfacing LCDs with the MSP430. Well I have my code(C) debugged, no errors. I have an HD44780 compatible LCD 2x16 display. I have a 5v power supply going into the lcd voltage input and the 5v power supply in series with a 10k resistor for the contrast input along with a RS and E line wired into 2 pins as well as my 8 data lines wired up into the approp...

Folks, We recently started a battery operated project. We originally thought our specifications were -20 C but management is now claiming that a significant portion of our market requires -40 C. The device has an extensive menu/parameter HMI for setup operations. We chose a non-segmented LCD (low power) because the text possible with a typical segmented LCD is hopelessly cryptic. But now...

A little off topic but does anyone know of a place to get a small 3"x4" custom button panel with 10 or so pushbuttons made with some simple LCD screen? Any estimates on cost for say 100-1000 units? I'm thinking a custom panel fabrication might be a lot more expensive than a touchscreen LCD which can be purchased for under $20 with no startup costs and then just have software buttons for sm...

Do the MSP430 with LCD drivers drive 3.3 LCD's down to the low 1.8V supply range? At first I just assumed they have charge pumps/voltage multipliers/step up converters to supply the 3.3 Volts to the LCDs like other micro's, but didn't see anything in the data sheet to suggest such thanks

Hi, which way is best for generating a menu to control my msp430-application? I've thought about using a statemachine. Each state would be one case in a switch-case-statement in C++. Is that a good way or do you prefer a better one for a LCD-Userinterface? My hardware consists of a rotary pulse encoder, the lcd display and a selfmade msp430 board. For the software I use Code Composer

Dear all, Would you know of a Dot Matrix LCD driver 32x64) that require a low power consumption when the LCD is on. Even though the MSP430 is a low power consumption part but when you interface with an external LCD drivert the power consumption goes up. Thanks, John. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam prot

After that only i have tried this code.can you help to...

Yup , PLL is second order system also , most of the time you have to open the loop! Hey guys, I am running a 449 board with an LCD from a second crystal (8 MHz) it works fine , I also have a 32KHz installed. By removing the 32 KHz crystal and feeding a 15KHz signal into Xin pin (pin 8 ) from a TB output LCD dies . What's wrong?.Does it have to do with the DCO?. Thanks! Karl. ----- Orig

Hello, I have a problem using a 4-mux-lcd with 24 segments / 4 coms together with a MSP430F413. Almost anything works fine: my display shows all segments as expected, scope shows voltages as shown in the datasheet 4-mux-example. But if I want to trigger 4 certain segments whose lcd memory bits are located at address 0x91 (the 4 lowest bits), all other segments become lower intensity. I can

Hi all, I noticed that when the JTAG is released from the board the processor runs without energy. How can that be? The MSP430F1232 board (from olimex) is tied to an LCD (4x20) with data0..data7 and RS,RW,E. All the MSP430F1232 ports are selected and programmed as output ports. The only VCC (5V) is tied to LCD Vcc and the grounds of LCD and processor is common. MSP430F1232 Vcc (pin n
