Is anyone using a (freeware) printer driver that outputs to a tiff or bmp file format? I have created a test pcb so I can protoype my design with the 18f2550, I want to send it as a bmp to my usual paint package so I can add text / clean a few corners etc, and then I can also save it as a jpg thumbnail for a page I have set up on the web to document my (slow) progress. -- Lez

I recently won the PIClist (the other one) monthly design competition with a little USB prototyping PCB I designed. I've added the details (including a picture of the board) to my PIC USB web page: http://www.leonheller.com/usb/getting_started.html Olimex has just supplied me with my prize - three prototype boards. I've tested one and it works OK. The boards will be available from ...

When I start MPLAB IDE v7.60 with the ICD2 plugged in my computer's USB port and the ICD2 plugged into my pcb (PIC16F887), it connects OK, reads ICD Product ID, runs the ICD self test, passed, says MPLAB ICD2 Ready but continues to have the Busy led on the ICD2 blinking. If I click in the program window or around on ...

I downloaded the Kic Studio software as well as the KicChip 8 .hex file from the KicChip WEB page. I then used my PICKit 2 to flash the .hex file into a PIC12F683. They seem to set the security bit as I couldn't read the chip after programming. I then made up a PCB with a LF351 op-amp driving an analog signal to Pin 3 (ADC 4) and Pin 5 driving a LED through a 2N7000 FET. It's going to end ...

I am new to doing hardware. I have programmed things in machine language before including device drivers. I feel very comfortable writing code in machine language. I have researched and pretty much figured out the circuit in my head but I want to make a schematic so I can show it to people who are more experienced in hardware to see if they can make suggestions and improve my design. Is the...
