Has anyone had any experience with USB based pic programmers? I have been using a modified NOPPP but the programming speed is getting to be a hassle. It takes way to long to program a 2k chip. The chips that I am using are the 16F628,877,84/A. If anyone could express

I'm looking for some sample code that shows how to read an ADC over USB using a 18F4550. I've looked at the MC sample code for the PICDEM FS USB board, but it's just too tough to make sense of with all the functions it has. I would like to find something simple if possible. Thanks, Steve ------------------------------------

Hello, I'm planning to use this programmer (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=6) for my dsPIC. I'm just wondering that if anyone has used this with a USB to RS232 cable and either did not work or worked; since my laptop (computer I use on the field) does not have a serial port, and I don't want to spend a lot on the USB version. I'm using this as a low-cost alt...

Hello, I've got a Pharos GPS-500 USB dongle on hand and I was wondering if it would be possible to hook this up to a PIC of some kind. When I plug it into my PC it is detected as a serial port by windows and the data just streams over as ASCII test. Anyone have a direction they can point me in? I've been looking at Microchip's website, but most of the stuff is on peripheral side devices....

Hi all, I'm movinf from my cranky PC's to the Mac, and some things don't have open source or Unix options, like MPLAB. While I've gotten compilers and MPLAB to work on Virtual PC 7 (Windows 2K) through the serial port, I'd REALLY like to get the ICD 2 working via USB. Has anyone gotten this to work and would be willing to share tips? The silence on
