The RCM3900 is capable of both half and full duplex mode for Ethernet. I believe that configuration is done during network negotiation. I don't need to set some #define or the like to get full duplex mode to work do I? Steve

Howdy Everybody: Is it advisable to use the RCM6700 and RCM6710 in new designs? I'm getting to be an older electronics engineer, but I can still lean new tricks. :-) I have several (about10) ageing (10-12 years old) circuit board designs based on the Motorola (Freescale) MC68HC11F1 16MHz 8Bit Microcontroller. I need to update these designs because the HC11 is being discontinued. I would l...

Hi everyone, I've developed a product using a RCM4300 board that hosts an embedded web page to show some parameters of a machine (pressures, temperatures, etc...). In 90% of the cases the connection scheme is RCM4300 -> (Router -> ) Modem -> Internet. No big companies with IT departments... it's just like a home connection, because the machines are in the field. In order to be able to acce

I posted this as part of a different question and nobody answered so I will try again as it's own topic. I have opened a udp socket with a datahandler. I opened a second udp socket for sending multicast data when values change. I get a connection, read from client, write back to client. I get another connection. It does not go to the datahandler. The main loop runs and multicast data cont...

I have discovered an interesting mode of operation for the Ethernet interface on the RCM3900. With Ethernet configured for DHCP mode, either power up the module without the Ethernet cable plugged in, or unplug it after power up. You will find that after a few minutes the Ethernet controller chip (Asix) gets very hot. Hot enough that you can't keep your finger on the part without burnin...

I have an R6k application that uses UDP broadcast messaging. And it seems to work fine. On our R3000 products we also use UDP, and we also use Scott Henion's UDPDownload feature which also uses a UDP socket. I am trying add Scott's method of device identification to my R6k app. But I've been unable to get it to work. I'm using 3 UDP sockets, on port 2100, for our system communication. ...

I am trying to implement a web button that will fetch the current time from a NIST time server, with the routine based on the NIST_TIME.C sample code. My code will get the NIST time if that function is called before starting the http handler. And the http handler will work fine until an attempt is made to get the NIST time. With the attached C and HTML code, each time the user clicks the --Test...
