for most distributions it comes inbuilt
wine=emulation for linux, program like ic-prog work fine, that uses
the serial port
it might emulate the usb as well

That's bad ... so i must use Windoze :(

It's cheap, easy to build and uses the COM for Powersupply.
However, I recently started using the PICkit-1 USB programmer (cheap)
and one of the things I want to do is make a user space driver /
programming software in Linux for it. There is USB-robot, a generic
user space driver for Linux. Problem is, it was written before there
was interrupt transfer support in libusb. PICkit 1 uses a PIC with USB
capability as the programmer controller, and it uses USB version 1.1
interrupt type data transfers.
I don't like USB: it's to expensive for "just4fun" projects
; or do you
know,if it's possible to use the PIC as USB interface?
Greetings,

Far as I know there isn't. I don't know anything about the JDM
programmer at all. However, I recently started using the PICkit-1 USB programmer
(cheap) and one of the things I want to do is make a user space driver /
programming software in Linux for it. There is USB-robot, a generic user space
driver for Linux. Problem is, it was written before there was interrupt transfer
support in libusb. PICkit 1 uses a PIC with USB capability as the programmer
controller, and it uses USB version 1.1 interrupt type data transfers.

Hi everybody,
does anyone know, how i can programm a PIC12F629 with the
JDM programmer under Linux? I added a PIC12F629 entry in hexfile.cc
and could then read a PIC12F629 (only Flash, not EEPROM) but when i try
to programm it i get verify errors...
is there a tool for Linux to programm PIC12**??
