I use this everyday with the same chip. I started with v2.2.2 and haven't
had any USB driver problems. You need to make sure the driver and INF file
get copied to the \windows\inf directory and \windows\system32\drivers
directory. I have also noticed that I have to have the cable go through a
hub instead of the front bus port. I'm on a Dell.

good luck

I have a PCB with the AT89C51SND1C Atmel MP3 processor.
I have loaded the Atmel FLIP software (V2.2.4).

I found that the device does not repond to the RS232 communications from the
FLIP software. An email to the Atmel support was quickly answered and I was
told to use USB instead.

I have installed the USB drivers for FLIP, but now when I try to open the USB
port I get the error message...

"(X) USB driver not installed."
" Execute Start > Programs > Atem > FLIP > Install USB Driver"

I tried re-installing the USB drivers, but this did not help.
A reboot did not help.
I have un-installed and re-installed FLIP. No change.

->Has anyone encountered this problem with the FLIP software and USB drivers?

I've sent another message to Atmel support, but I'm very keen to get
programming this device as soon as possible.

regards...
