Indeed, so I see, but they don't seem to be real (yet). The estimate is mid-July 2004. There was also supposed to be an 18F in the 8-pin package but it never made it.. Not true. There's a 16F54 and a 16F57, both of which use are flash versions of the 12-bit core.

MPLAB&#4294967295; IDE v6.41 Interim Release Software
MPLAB PM3 device programmer is fully supported in this interim
release. Components with new device support include:
      MPASM
      18F6410 18F6490 18F8410 18F8490
      18F2585 18F2680 18F4585 18F4680
      16F505 16F636
      12F635 12F508 12F509 12F683

And have a look at this link

There are not now, nor will there likely ever be, flash versions of any PIC with 12-bit core, including the 12C508/9. Best regards, Spehro Pefhany -- "it's the network..." Not quite, but changes should be fairly trivial unless extensive use is made of RAM banking. Mostly removing page-preselect stuff and changing RAM/SFR locations.

What about the 12F629 etc.? Flash, eight pins and lots more stuff in it than the 12C508. Leon -- Leon Heller, G1HSM Email: aqzf13@dsl.pipex.com My low-cost Philips LPC210x ARM development system: http://www.geocities.com/leon_heller/lpc2104.html

Hi all,

As above. Is there a flash device substitute for the 8 pin 12C509
device?

I don't seem to be able to get a definitive answer anywhere (even
Microchip)

TIA
