I am working on an embedded system based on lpc2103 and have
implemented a protocol where the lower layer is based on using the
parity bit as frame-sync. The bus is based on can transceivers
connected to uart1.
My problem is that I don't know how to get going with a pc-
application that must listen and transmit on the serial link for
monitoring and firmware update.
I can reuse the upper layers of the protocol, but need to rewrite the
lower layer that controls the uart.
I use visual studio 2005 and my question is if any-one has code
examples the illustrate how to implement an application like this
under visual studio / win xp. I have found plenty of examples for the
serial port but none that actually use parity checks.
I see several problems on the pc - the fifo is large as I understand
and I have no link between the bytes received and the parity-error.
Additionally I don't know when the last byte has been transmitted so
that I can change parity for a frame-sync byte...
Any code samples or suggestions are appreciated!
