Right! Hardware wise, they provide excellent value for money. Being an
effective embedded developer, we need to find ways to solve around
software problems. I'm planning to buy another board from Olimex :)

While I agree that Olimex might have made it a little bit easier for
you to learn that a "missing" header file is provided by IAR, I would
not stoop to calling it a "Bad experience". Also, you are allowed to
do a little research on what you get before you buy. Therefore I
consider your message to possibly be the silliest one i have read on

With just a little bit of tweaking around, i was able to get the
blinky program working. I'm just a little disappointed that Olimex
should have atleast provided the required headers in their sample
programs.

That is, of course, your choice and your loss, since they make good
hardware at a reasonable cost. If you look at their web site you can
see that the stuff you wanted is available for free download.

That's of course your good right, anyway, but FMI: did they in any way
make you believe you would get more than just the board?

You have to download the software from their web site, it's the same with
all their boards.

Hi,
I have purchased a board from Olimex and I was very
disappointed by the fact that it did not even come
with a CD or evaluation software.
I don't know if that common practice from Olimex but I
will not buy any development board from Olimex any
longer.
