Hi Gilles,

Thank you for the SRecCvt Reference guide. Yes, it is what I wanted:
1. It is a Motorola document and
2. It says explicitly that the linearized HCS12 S-record is preferred by
Motorola.

So, I can refer to this guide in my documents.

Thanks,
Karoly

Hi .

I send you directly the "SRecCvtRG.pdf":

Reference Guide For SRecCvt An S-Record Formatting Program For The M68HC12
Microcontroller Family.
Written By Gordon Doughman.

Please reply to the group to say if it's enough or if you need more specs.

Best regards,

Hi All,

I am implementing a boot loader for the HCS12 processor family. I use the
linear memory layout that is mentioned in the AN2153 App. Note. (This is the
format that is used by P&E Micro's Flash programmer and Cosmic's compiler
and it is now supported by Metrowerks as well.)
However, I did not find any official Motorola documentation that specifies
this S-record format so it is hard to explain why I have chosen it for the
boot loader. I found several notes and particular explanation, even examples
in various documents, for example in AN2153 but I did find the official
Motorola specification of that format.

Could you send me a link or the document that explicitly specifies this
linear memory format for HCS12?

Thanks,
Karoly
