First they got rid of 68**, now no more batwings.
What's next - little endianness?

Apparently Freescale is supposed to invoke images of free climbing
(mountain climbing without ropes and other extraneous paraphernalia).

I didn't get this. To me it looks like they are climbing aboard Intel's
Xscale train.

And as for Metrowerks joining Freescale...get your Freescale compiler, only
$5000. To this I can only say Gnu ^H^H^H no.

I don't think they can use CLR, after all isn't that something you
use to Freescale from your kettle? --- In , "zeta_alpha2002" <zeta_alpha2002@y...>

Yes so I see - I have no problem with the name as long they don't

It's Freescale (one word).

Didn't they know that they need a _unique_ name?

http://www.freescale.de/
http://www.kenall.com/

Well, it's slightly better than ON Semiconductor (IMHO).

Presumably Metrowerks will move with Freescale and not sat behind with
Motorola? // richard (This email is for mailing lists. To reach me directly, please

That was the implication...since Metrowerks develops the IDEs, compilers,
etc., for the silicon, they'll migrate to Freescale as well...

Several of us were at a Metrowerks presentation earlier this week, and the
Motorola guys there confirmed that the new semiconductor company identity
will be Freescale.

Part numbers for existing products are not supposed to change...
