By which token your message itself is disallowed. The exception is mild advertising in a sig block, which yours is not (it lacks a proper sig delimiter of "-- "). -- Chuck F (cbfalconer@yahoo.com) (cbfalconer@worldnet.att.net) Available for consulting/temporary embedded and systems. <http://cbfalconer.home.att.net> USE worldnet address!

No. Neither of those are on-topic for advertising. -- Al Balmer Balmer Consulting removebalmerconsultingthis@att.net

It is only twice in three weeks in COMP.ARCH.EMBEDDED if you see it in other groups as well, then maybe they are not setting crossposts and followups in a best manner, However it is still ahrdly spamming, if you had seen it 36 times in ONE DAY, or over lots of UNRELATED groups, you *might* have a point. -- Paul Carpenter | paul@pcserviceselectronics.co.uk <http://www.pcserviceselectronics.co.uk/> PC Services <http://www.gnuh8.org.uk/> GNU H8 & mailing list info <http://www.badweb.org.uk/> For those web sites you hate

Your argument would open up all newsgroups to spam from every company that "thought you'd be interested in their product". As far as I understand, unsolicited advertisements to newsgroups are allowed ONLY ONCE, and only for NEW PRODUCTS related to the newsgroup's topic. Using newsgroups to advertise your "sale of the week/month" or (perpetual) Anniversary sales is not what I think most people have in mind! ========= For LAN/WAN Protocol Analysis, check out PacketView Pro! ========= Patrick Klos Email: patrick@klos.com Klos Technologies, Inc. Yes, they (COMSOL) sell C cross-compilers for microcontrollers. I would hope that there are embedded C programmers lurking in that group. Or perhaps there is a struggling embedded C programmer longing to burst free of the bonds of the big-iron... :-) Rob Young

Google shows it at least 36 times: <URL:http://groups.google.co.uk/groups?q=%22COMSOL+is+celebrating+its+25th+birthday%22&filter=0>
