By which token your message itself is disallowed. The exception is
mild advertising in a sig block, which yours is not (it lacks a
proper sig delimiter of "-- ").

No. Neither of those are on-topic for advertising.

It is only twice in three weeks in COMP.ARCH.EMBEDDED if you see it in other
groups as well, then maybe they are not setting crossposts and followups
in a best manner, However it is still ahrdly spamming, if you had seen it
36 times in ONE DAY, or over lots of UNRELATED groups, you *might* have a
point.

Your argument would open up all newsgroups to spam from every company that
"thought you'd be interested in their product".
As far as I understand, unsolicited advertisements to newsgroups are allowed
ONLY ONCE, and only for NEW PRODUCTS related to the newsgroup's topic. Using
newsgroups to advertise your "sale of the week/month" or (perpetual)
Anniversary sales is not what I think most people have in mind!

Yes, they (COMSOL) sell C cross-compilers for microcontrollers. I would
hope that there are embedded C programmers lurking in that group. Or
perhaps there is a struggling embedded C programmer longing to burst free of
the bonds of the big-iron... :-)
