Have you also considered the Silicon labs CP2102 etc.. Although I haven't

Wondering if anyone has used any of these parts:

If yes, how did it go? Any significant problems with operation,
availability, support, ...? We're looking to use the FT2232C in the MCU Host
Bus Emulation mode to communicate with an FPGA in a different chassis.
