Have you tried the code examples Texas Instruments supplies for the
MSP430FW427 for driving a LCD display. About 2/3 of the way down the
following Web Page there is a down load link for a zip file that
contains examples in assembly language and C.

You might also want to look at the demo code for the SBLCDA4 Softbaugh
has available on their Web Site.

Howard,

I'm not sure what you mean. Currently I'm using the ESW427 dev board
from Softbaugh. It has the SBLCDA4 lcd screen which is a 7.1segment 4mux
screen.

Thanks,

What type of interface does the LCD display you ant to use have?

Hello all,

I'm very new to MSP430 programming and overall new to MCU programming in
general. My previous experience is with the Basic Atom 40-m(which is
programmed using PBasic and uses a PIC chip). The LCD programming was
very easy in PBasic as it had built in libraries/commands disguised as
Basic commands that allowed you to output data to an LCD very easy. I
have learned that thus is not the case with the MSP430. I have gone
through the data sheets/userguides but I'm a bit confused. Anyone have
some information or can point me towards some info that could help me
out?

Thanks,
