I respectfully disagree. When I cross post it is with follow-up to all the newsgroups, and much of the value that I get from it is the conversations that are sparked among folks who wouldn't see each other's replies if they went to one 'central' newsgroup. Perhaps it is the nature of the groups I frequent, and the stuff that I'm interested in, but any flame wars that I have been sparked have been outweighed by the value of the conversations. -- Tim Wescott Wescott Design Services http://www.wescottdesign.com Posting from Google? However the OP should also set follow-ups to the one central (to him) newsgroup where all the answers and further correspondence should take place. This avoids promulgation of these horrible heavily cross-posted threads which invariably deteriorate into some sort of flame war. The cross-post then lasts only long enough to attract interested parties. -- Chuck F (cbfalconer@yahoo.com) (cbfalconer@maineline.net) Available for consulting/temporary embedded and systems. <http://cbfalconer.home.att.net> USE maineline address!

Please check in Wikipedia or do a web search on "cross posting", and pay close attention to the difference between cross posting (which you did not do between this group and comp.arch.fpga) and "multiple posting" (which you did). Cross-posting is socially acceptable in many circumstances. You get to do multiple posting once, as a very new newbie. -- Tim Wescott, occasional net cop Wescott Design Services http://www.wescottdesign.com Posting from Google? Hi all.
I'm an undergrad student doing a year long project on designing an 8051

variant for FPGA.
We're required to decide upon the specifications, by targeting any
particular application.
I'd be really thankful for any suggestions for the applications....
Could someone guide me to sites that offer a comparison, &
applications of available 8051 cores?

thanx in advance
