Regarding High Price compilers, why Cosmic and not IAR or Metrowerks ?
Does anybody make some tests ? --- In , "bobi" <bobi.mageroski@p...> wrote:

When yoiu say 'best', I'll extrapolate that you mean: the c compiler is ansi
compatible, and passes a test suite so you dont have to worry about finding
bugs in the compiler, it has an easy to use ide so you dont have to learn the
unix regular expression syntax to learn how to write makefiles, it is
reasonably priced, even for a one man programming company, as compared to thousands
of dollers per seat for some compilers, the generated code is reasonably
efficient... that is, it makes optimizatiuons based on the target cpu
architecture. Now you need to assign your importance factor to each item. Now obtain
eval copies of gcc, icc12, iar, metroworks, and (what other compilers are
there), install them all, use them for a while, summarize your results, and report
back to this forum. We are all very interested in your results. I use
imagecraft, Price is my number one criterion. I'm very poor. Furthermore, I dont
know of any c++ compilers for hc12. I think there are a couple, tho... someone
will tell s what they are....
