The BME280 family by Bosch Sensortec is a specialized digital sensor series designed to provide simultaneous measurement of humidity, pressure, and temperature. Variants in the BME280 sub-family primarily distinguish between the raw surface-mount components and integrated evaluation platforms. While the discrete BME280 sensor offers the smallest footprint for mass production, the Shuttle Board 3.0 variant provides a pre-mounted solution on a plug-and-play PCB. This allows for rapid prototyping using the Bosch Sensortec Application Board, facilitating early firmware development without the need for custom soldering or PCB fabrication.
