BQ25505RGRT in TI BQ24xxx / BQ25xxx Battery Charge Family

The BQ25505RGRT by Texas Instruments is a highly integrated power management solution specifically designed for ultra-low-power energy harvesting applications. It efficiently extracts microwatts to milliwatts of power from high-impedance sources such as solar, thermal, or vibration harvesters. The family features an integrated cold-start system that operates from inputs as low as 330mV, subsequently maintaining power extraction down to 100mV. It includes an autonomous power path management system for seamless switching between harvested energy and primary battery storage.

Variants in This Sub-Family

Variants within the BQ255xx sub-family are distinguished primarily by their integrated power management blocks. While the BQ25505 focuses on autonomous power path management between two storage elements, the BQ25504 serves as a standard boost charger, and the BQ25570 adds a built-in step-down buck converter to provide a regulated output rail for microcontrollers. Packaging and environmental ratings remain consistent across most RGR derivatives.
