FM25W256 in Cypress / Infineon FM24 & FM25 FRAM Family
The FM25W256 family, manufactured by Infineon Technologies (formerly Cypress Semiconductor), consists of 256-Kbit non-volatile ferroelectric RAM (F-RAM) integrated circuits utilizing a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). Unlike traditional EEPROM or Flash, these components offer high-speed write operations at bus speed without write delays. They are designed for applications requiring frequent or rapid data logging, offering virtually unlimited endurance of 100 trillion read/write cycles and low power consumption across a wide operating voltage range.
Variants in This Sub-Family
Variants within the FM25W256 sub-family primarily differ based on packaging and delivery formats. The FM25W256-G signifies the standard 8-pin Small Outline Integrated Circuit (SOIC) package, while the FM25W256-GTR variant indicates the same 8-SOIC package provided in tape and reel format for high-volume automated assembly. All members share the same electrical characteristics, including the 256-Kbit density and 20 MHz maximum SPI clock speed.
